50% Complete

Congratulations to me for reaching the half-way mark for my wife’s pregnancy!  It’s been an uphill battle riddled with gaining sympathy weight, dealing with my wife’s dinosaur-sized indigestion, and being woken up in the night from her frequent bathroom visits. Rough stuff, I tell ya.  Women have to deal with pregnancy. Men have to deal with pregnant woman.  It all balances itself out in the end.  Ha! I think I can actually HEAR the women clicking away from this site after reading that.
We just had our 21-week ultrasound yesterday.  It was quite the experience.  The ultrasound tech was nice enough to show the baby in 4D, which was so cool; however, it looked a little alien-like.  Maybe that's just the Canadian genes. Overall, I LOVED seeing the heartbeat pumping away like the little engine that could.  It was very cute (don't worry, I have a "cute" quota on this Manly Baby Blog, so you won't see it very often).
So, how big is the baby at 21 weeks you may or may not be asking yourself?  Well, instead of comparing the baby to some stupid fruit or vegetable like most baby sites do, here is what a MAN’S baby blog looks like:

The baby should weigh around 12 ounces which is about the weight of this beautiful can of glory:

Or this delicious porterhouse steak:
The baby should be around 10.5 inches in length, which is the length of this Bowie knife:
Or these fence pliers:
That's what I'm talking about!  I love being a man.  Anyway, if you are interested in seeing a picture of the 21 week ultrasound, head on over to the Baby In Progress link or scroll on up to the other link at the top of the page.  Here is a dumb joke to finish off this blog:

My wife: I’m five months pregnant now. When will my baby move?
Me: With any luck, right after he finishes high school. Boo-ya!
