Tool Time: Part One

Does everybody know what time it is? Tool time!  Time to roll up my sleeves, put on my big boy pants, and turn on some manly power tools because this nursery is not gonna to build itself, right?  Oh, when I refer to myself doing the work I really mean my father-in-law.  My official title is Mr. Handtheheavytoolstomyfatherinlawandwatchhimdoallthehardwork. It's a long title, but I earned it through laziness and an utter lack of home-repair knowledge.  Below are some pictures of what will soon be the nicest room in our entire house.  I find it not very fair, since this baby will probably destroy it with crayons, paint, and various bodily fluids, but I guess I better get used to the idea of this kid owning me.

These two pictures are before we moved into the house.

Mmmm, check out the beautiful ocean-blue carpet straight from the 1960's.

We ripped up that carpet and found a whole lot of cat urine stains. Lovely.

Don't worry, that cat was not responsible for the stains...He just always looks that guilty.
Working hard at the shop. This is an old pic. She looks MUCH fatter now.

  Hardly working at the shop.

Action shot! Please disregard the lack of wood that is being cut with the saw.

Here is pa doing the brunt of the work.

Wainscoting around the room with attached bookshelves and a cozy bench seat.  What a spoiled brat.

 Me doing the easy stuff.

The irony is not lost on me with this being a "manly" blog and me being the antithesis to Tim "the toolman" Taylor or Bob Vila, but I'm okay with that. I should at least get credit for knowing who Bob Vila is, eh?  Anyway, hopefully part deux will be up soon seeing how this baby is coming in five and a half weeks. Yikes!
