A Storm on the Horizon

*You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war. - Albert Einstein

*I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, it's stupidity. - Dwight D. Eisenhower

*This is gonna suck. - Kyle (themanlybabyblog)

There is a war brewing in the suburbs of Chicago. One which cannot be won with powerful guns or modern technology.  Elegant words nor peace rallies will not be able to tame this erupting volcano. The signs are evident: Excessive drooling. Irritability. Bulging gums.  Our baby is on the verge of teething.

This being our first child, we are merely Privates shaking in our boots in the teething trenches. We know little of what to expect from the enemy, but we estimate that losses will be heavy.  The enemy does not sleep. It attacks at a moment's notice like a thief in the night.  It will reign down buckets of drool on its victims like the great floods of Noah; yet, the enemy's most destructive tool is the power to take over its host and transform him into a rage-filled green monster.

"Can't. Stop. This. Pain. So. Very. ANGRY!"

We have a rough journey ahead of us, but as one of my favorite Presidents (in a movie) once said, "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on, we're going to survive!"
Your thoughts and prayers will be greatly appreciated throughout these next few years. Sending alcohol couldn't hurt either.

On a somewhat related note, I will wrap this post up with a classic viral video of Charlie biting his brother.  It gets a laugh out of me every time.
